BROOKVILLE – Multiple charges including aggravated assault, escape, and harassment have been filed against a 21-year-old Brookville man.
Police say they arrested Austin Newcomb last month following an incident in Brookville.
He was reportedly sitting in his vehicle and watching and following a woman who was walking her dog.
When police arrived at the scene, Newcomb allegedly drove towards the police car head-on.
A short time later, officers found four bags containing marijuana residue in Newcomb’s car.
When Newcomb was taken to the police station and was being walked in, he escaped custody for a few minutes and tried to run away.
Newcomb is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
