Brookville man charged with selling drug-laced candy bar to teen

REYNOLDSVILLE – A Jefferson County man is facing criminal charges for allegedly selling a marijuana-laced candy bar to a high school student.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Ozzy Smyers of Brookville purchased the drug-infused candy bar in New York, and then sold it to a teenage boy who attends Jeff Tech in Reynoldsville. The teen admitted to police that he took the candy bar to school with him and shared it with other students.

Charges against Smyers include one felony drug-related count, and one misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.

A preliminary hearing for Smyers has been scheduled for February 27th.
