BROOKVILLE – Charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and neglect of animals have been filed against a Brookville man after he allegedly starved his dog.
According to Jefferson County Court documents, 44-year-old Russel Park was identified as the owner of Bella, a stray, emaciated Boxer found by the county dog warden earlier this month.
Bella required three days of emergency care at an animal hospital in DuBois.
A veterinarian found no medical reasons for Bella to be emaciated, and it was concluded by Humane Control officers that Park had been neglecting and starving the dog.
Park will have a preliminary hearing in March.
