Brookville man arrested for aggravated assault

Punxsutawney, PA

A 25-year old Jefferson County man is behind bars after allegedly charging at a police officer with a sword during a domestic dispute in Punxsutawney earlier this month.

Court documents indicate that Punxsutawney Borough Police filed criminal charges against Raymond Phillips of Brookville.

When police were called to the residence due to a fight between Phillips and his father, Phillips allegedly charged at the officer with a Japanese-style bamboo sword in his hand and threatened to kill him.

Phillips has been arraigned on multiple charges including aggravated assault and terroristic threats, Philips waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

He is currently held in the Jefferson County Jail.
