PUNXSUTAWNEY – Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a Jefferson County man for allegedly spitting on a police chief.
According to Punxsutawney police, 29-year-old Zephaniah Vickers caused a disturbance at the Punxsy McDonald’s on Christmas Eve. Vickers, of Brookville, was reportedly yelling and screaming, and locked himself in the restaurant’s bathroom. Police were called to the scene, and Vickers was taken outside while he allegedly continued to scream and tried to pull away from the officers. When Vickers was transported to the police station, he allegedly spat directly in the face of the police chief.
In addition to aggravated assault, Vickers was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and defiant trespass. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 27th.
