Brockway’s 219/28 stoplight will need maintenance to keep working

SHARE NOW

Brockway, PA – The Brockway borough is getting some stoplight maintenance soon. The light on Routes 219 and 28 went on the blink recently, and when the borough looked into the problem, they found that the light needed maintenance. It had minimal work done on it over the past five years.

Council President Chris “Smoke” Benson said that the borough found a balance for the maintenance that will keep the light working until the eventual intersection project in the area begins.

Hear Smoke Benson talk about the street light.

Borough Police Office Michael Stutsman is resigning to prepare for the State Police Academy. When the department needed more police officers, Stutsman came back to Brockway to assist. Mayor Bill Hrinya thanked him for his service and wished him well.

The borough is looking into applying for state aid to purchase a new streets department truck. The borough is looking to add a new plow truck to its fleet.

The council reminds residents that they have to obey signs when it comes to snow removal. Some residents are parking in areas that are to be cleared so snowplows can get through.

The Brockway Borough Council will meet again February 4 at 7 p.m.
