Brockway woman strikes riding lawn mower with car, sending one person to hospital

Snyder Township, PA – A car struck a riding lawn mower in Jefferson County recently, sending one person to the hospital.

State Police in DuBois say 86-year-old Pauline Orourke from Brockway had been driving her Toyota Avalon along Kearney Road in Snyder Township on April 6.

That’s when someone on a riding lawn mower entered the roadway.

Orourke’s vehicle struck the lawn mower, then went on to strike two parked vehicles along the side of the road.

Orourke had been wearing her seat belt and was not injured.

The identity of the driver of the lawn mower was not released by police. That person was transported to Penn Highlands by ambulance for their injuries.

Orourke was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
