BROCKWAY – Brockway is looking ahead with a new five year strategic plan aimed at strengthening local businesses, improving beautification, and guiding future development.

The community driven plan also focuses on pedestrian safety, outdoor recreation, volunteer engagement, and tourism.

Iris Quigley with the Pennsylvania Downtown Center says the plan identifies potential funding sources and partnerships to help turn those projects into reality.

“This is not just Discover Brockway’s vision. This is not just the borough’s vision. This is really every single resident, every single organization can hopefully see how they played a part in this.”

Projects being considered include gateway welcome features, improved sidewalks/crosswalks, wayfinding signs, public art displays, community gathering spaces, and trail related improvements. The borough also unveiled a new community logo.
