BROCKWAY – Two members of the Brockway Area School Board have resigned, setting up a reappointment and a new vacancy following last night’s meeting.
Longtime board member Bob Grecco stepped down effective immediately after 19 years of service. Board member Katie Morris also resigned during the same meeting.
School Board President Edward Yahner says that Morris was moving into Brockway from Snyder Township, creating a vacancy in her role. She was then unanimously nominated to fill Grecco’s remaining term.
“Mr. Greco made his intent very clear,” explained Yahner. “He wanted his position to continue to be filled by someone that had their heart in the right place and doing the great work of the board.”
If you live in the Snyder Township area or know someone who does and would like to serve on the school board, contact the Brockway Area School District superintendent’s office. The missing seat is expected to be filled by next month’s meeting.
