Brockway – At its August meeting Tuesday night, the Brockway Area School Board heard an update on bids for construction of the new auxiliary gymnasium.
The new building is going to be used for winter recess time for students and practices for various Brockway Rovers sports teams.
Architect Amos Rudolph told the board that the lowest bid for the gym’s construction and plumbing is $1.44 million from Fred Burns.
Work on the gym is expected to begin once some plans are finalized.
Brockway’s school board also approved the purchase of a roll-in refrigerator for over $6,800, and a refrigerated merchandizer for more than $2,400 as part of cafeteria upgrades.
