Brcokway, PA – The Brockway Area School District held its second meeting of May to approve the proposed budget, giving residents some welcome news… no new taxes this year.

The district will approve the $16,048,450 budget at its June 23 meeting, keeping taxes the same even though the budget reflects an increase of 1.6 percent over the 2019-2020 school year.

The district also approved co-opting with DuBois Central Catholic for girls’ soccer. It is continuing to retain the Law Firm of Ferraro, Kruk, and Ferraro for legal representation and Frontline

Technologies to manage teacher absences.

The district has several events upcoming to round out the 2019-2020 school year. Kindergarten drive-thru graduation will be at the elementary school on June 2, the high school graduation will be at Moon-Lite Drive-In on June 4, and the online year ends June 5.

Listen to audio from school board president Katie Bish, as she explains there will be no new taxes for the 2020-2021 school year.
