Brockway man killed in one-vehicle Route 28 crash

Redbank Township, PA – A Brockway man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Clarion County on Wednesday.

54-year-old Jeffrey Comito had been driving his Chevy Equinox on Route 28 in Redbank Township just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He lost control for unknown reasons, left the roadway, went over an embankment, and then struck a tree and several bushes, causing the vehicle to catch fire.

Comito suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He had been wearing a seat belt.

Several emergency crews and fire stations responded to the crash, and that portion of Route 28 in Clarion County was shut down Wednesday for about three hours.

Comito’s family has been notified of the death, but there is no word on funeral arrangements yet.
