CLEARFIELD – For the third time in the past four years, the Clearfield County Jail has a new warden.
David Rupprecht Jr of Brockway has been hired as warden, and he is expected to begin the new position on March 4th. The hiring of Rupprecht was announced at this week’s meeting of the Clearfield County Prison Board. Rupprecht is a U.S. Army veteran, and he has 12 years of experience as a security captain for correctional institutions.
The latest warden, David Gallagher, was fired in December. Last summer, three female inmates overdosed at the jail, and one of them died. The family of the 31-year-old woman who died has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Clearfield County, Gallagher, and several corrections officers.
