PHILIPSBURG – A Jefferson County man is facing charges of attempted homicide after police say he stabbed another man in the neck during a fight.
According to court documents, 21-year old Noah Fremer of Brockway is accused of arguing and fighting with the victim in Philipsburg on Sunday. Police report that a witness to the fight claimed Fremer told the victim, “You’re gonna be dead” before he stabbed him in the neck.
The victim was treated for the stab wound at Mount Nittany Hospital and Geisinger in Danville.
Police caught Fremer a short time later along Route 322 in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. Fremer allegedly told police he was not trying to kill the man, but was trying to protect himself.
Fremer is being held in the Centre County Prison, and bail has been denied.
