Brockway, PA – Brockway School District is excited about their upcoming graduation ceremony, is reminding parents of how to pick up belongings at the school buildings, and has also hired several people.
The Brockway School Board held a meeting virtually on Tuesday night, adding some staff members to the school district.
Brockway hired Jessie Zameroski as special education director, Delaney McMeekin as a special education teacher, Julianna Esposito as girls soccer head coach, and Bobbi Erickson as a cafeteria worker. The district is also hiring some work study students for the summer.
The district approved the purchase of 100 new Chromebooks as well as five new wireless microphones. They will also have The Floor Show come to do flooring in four elementary school classrooms and Sugar Brothers put in new air conditioning in the business office.
The board said it is looking forward to the graduation ceremony at Moonlite Drive-In on June 4. They approved the list of graduates for that ceremony.
Superintendent Jeff Vizza reminded parents that they can come into the schools to pick up their child’s belongings, but there are specific times for them to do that.
The board will meet again before the end of the month, May 26, for budget and general purposes.
Vizza said, “Just a quick reminder to our parents and students that the pick up of belongings started today. I ask that you refer to the May 1 or May 6 email to see your scheduled times for grade levels and assigned building to pick those items up or return the school district’s belongings.”
