BROCKWAY – The 2024 budget for Brockway does not contain a tax increase.
At its final meeting of the year, Brockway’s Borough Council approved next year’s spending plan with Secretary Laurie Wayne emphasizing that taxes will not be increased.
Council was informed that a recent power outage caused problems for the police department’s computer system. A $6,100 system and equipment upgrade was voted on and approved by the council.
The Brockway Volunteer Hose Company reported that a $10,000 donation was received from the Mengle Memorial Foundation. Those funds will go towards the purchase of a new ladder truck.
Garbage and recycling collection in Brockway will cost a little more next year. The Waste Management bills for borough residents will climb a little more than $2 per month in 2024.
The Brockway Borough Council reorganization meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 2nd at 6 pm.
