Brockport Man Sentenced to State Prison

BROCKPORT – A Brockport man will be spending up to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to severely injuring another with a motorcycle.

This stems from a June 30th 2024 incident where 42 year-old Robert Steele Sr. was driving a motorcycle south on Shawville Frenchville Highway when he crashed into the victim before fleeing the scene.

As a result of the crash, the victim had to have a leg amputated.

After admitting to the crime and pleading guilty to aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless endangerment, and accident involving death or injury he was sentenced to spend between 20 months and 10 years in state prison and pay the victim $77,552 dollars in restitution.
