UNDATED – A new law is bringing cursive instruction back to Pennsylvania classrooms.

Act 2 of 2026 brings cursive instruction back to the classroom, citing that foundational documents, like the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, were written in cursive.

Lawmakers go on to say that young students should know how to read and write in this style to strengthen memory, language, and critical thinking.

The new law goes into effect in mid April.
