HARRISBURG – A $260,000 grant should help boost hiring within the healthcare field in Clearfield and Elk counties.
Local State Representatives Mike Armanini and Dallas Kephart welcomed the news of the grant being awarded to Workforce Solutions for North Central PA.
Armanini said, “Pennsylvania was experiencing a healthcare worker shortage before the COVID-19 pandemic, which only aggravated the situation,” but he went on to say that the grant money will, “hopefully change that trajectory.”
Kephart noted that, “this grant is a welcome tool for improving our healthcare infrastructure, something all Pennsylvanians – especially those in rural areas – heavily depend on.”
The grant is part of the Nursing Pathway Apprenticeship Industry Partnership for North Central PA, and it will target potential healthcare workers in low and moderate income communities and offer opportunities with competitive wages.
