Blankets of Hope: Friday is last day to donate to blanket drive

SHARE NOW

DuBois, PA – Friday is the final official day for our Blankets of Hope collection drive to help the cold and homeless of our community. Especially with temperatures dropping below 0 during some nights, the bitter January weather can be downright dangerous for those without adequate shelter and warmth.

You can still drop off new, warm blankets at the Family Dollar in DuBois near the Giant Eagle until Friday, Jan. 21.

Blankets will be given first to those who are living in cars and tents or other inadequate shelter.

Because people have been so generous with their donations, additional blankets can also be given to those who have the shelter of a house or apartment but might not be warm enough for other reasons, such as poor heating.

Just stop by the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois and you can receive one of the blankets.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far!

Check back for the full interview with Dolly McCluskey, executive director of the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois, who is helping to distribute the collected blankets.
