UNDATED – A bipartisan bill introduced by Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson, if enacted, would protect Social Security benefits of health care workers and first responders who returned to work during public health emergencies.
The Health Care Worker and First Responder Fairness Act would exempt those workers from the Retirement Earnings Test and restore benefits that were reduced during the pandemic.
The Congressman added that many Pennsylvanians came out of retirement to help during the crisis without realizing that their benefits would be cut off.
