GRAMPIAN – Clearfield County is helping The Bilgers Rocks Association with a project to replace a bridge in the Grampian area.

The County Commissioners approved an allocation of more than $270,000 to help Bloom Township leverage state grant funding. The project to replace the Bilgers Rocks Road bridge is estimated to cost more than $1-million. The paving of Bilgers Rocks Road will cost an additional $680,000.

The Clearfield County Planning Director Jodi Brennan said that rural municipalities such as Bloom Township are at a disadvantage when competing for grant funding because they often can’t afford the matching fund requirements.
