CLARION – The assault charges which had been filed against a Jefferson County man for allegedly back-handing a corrections officer at the Clarion County Jail have been dismissed.
During Tuesday’s preliminary hearing for 25-year-old Dane Kells of Punxsutawney, the assault charges were dropped, but a summary charge of harassment was filed.
Kells had been accused of hitting the officer in August while failing to comply with orders to return to his cell.
Kells was released from the Clarion County Jail following his hearing.
