As federal charges advance, state charges against Suplizio are dropped

CLEARFIELD – The state-level criminal charges against suspended DuBois City Manager Herm Suplizio have been dropped.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office officially withdrew those charges in Clearfield County Court on Tuesday.

Suplizio and a former city employee, Bobbie Shaffer, were indicted by a federal grand jury on November 16^th. Suplizio and Shaffer now face federal fraud and conspiracy charges.

If found guilty, both Suplizio and Shaffer could face 45 years in prison, and fines in excess of $1-million.
