DUBOIS – A young family IS facing unimaginable challenges on their journey to an unlikely parenthood.

Brittany and Gerome Neiswonger after being told that they couldn’t have children have been blessed with two daughters, two year-old Haven and three month-old  Haisley, now their journey has taken an unexpected detour when Haisley was diagnosed with a rare condition.

“It’s called Duplex Collecting Systems,“ explained Brittany Neiswonger. “She looks and acts like a normal baby completely, but it’s caused her to have some UTIs and some discomfort. She just had a surgery on the 21st. Other than that she is a really happy baby, but we do have to go to Pittsburgh around three times a month.”

Haisley will now need to go to the doctor once again to determine if additional surgeries or medical attention is needed.

With medical bills, travel costs, and strain on both parents they are doing everything in their power to give their daughters a bright future.

While Brittany initially did not want to set up any fundraisers in fear of judgment or pity, their families convinced them to start a GoFundMe which has raised a current $1,113 dollars.
