SANDY TOWNSHIP – Eastern Avenue is now open to the public after authorities detonated an active bomb early Saturday Morning.
All of this stems from a bomb threat just after 8pm Friday night involving multiple Police Officers, State Police, FBI Agents, Firefighters, EMS, Clearfield EMA, and Bomb Squad members.
The suspect, later identified as 29 year-old Brandon Collins, who was also accused of building homemade bombs on Monday, was barricaded in his home claiming there were explosives inside.
After evacuating the neighborhood, authorities were then able to safely place Collins into custody.
At around 3:15 am crews were able to perform a controlled detonation inside the residence.
After disposing of the device and materials, the area was opened back up and residents were told they could return home.
