PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney woman is facing assault charges after allegedly throwing plastic water bottles during an argument over the weekend.
On August 25th police responded to the 400 block of Airport Road in Bell Township for reports of a domestic dispute.
Once on screen officers discovered 57 year-old Della Esther Green and her fiancé got into a verbal argument about her dress. During the argument, the victim allegedly threw water onto Green.
Afterwards Green then grabbed multiple bottles of water and allegedly threw them at her fiancé, which struck his face.
When officers spoke to the victim, they noticed redness and swelling all over his head. He told police the injuries were due to the water bottles.
Green now faces misdemeanor charges of harassment and simple assault. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 5th.
