Accidental house fire in Ridgway, arson of vacant mobile home in Bigler

Two fires happened recently… an accidental house fire in Ridgway and and arson that destroyed a vacant mobile home in Bigler.

Ridgway, PA – Although no one was injured, a family in Ridgway lost their home to a fire recently.

The two-story home on Rock Street in Ridgway Borough caught fire around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Investigation showed that the fire started on the exterior of the home and was accidental in nature.

The residents – 23-year-old John Mitchell, 22-year-old Jasmin Carlson, and a 9-month-old baby boy – were not injured.

Damage is estimated at $150,000, and the victims do not have insurance.

Bigler, PA – A vacant mobile home was set on fire in Bigler, Clearfield County.

The home on Cross Roads Boulevard in Bigler was unoccupied when it was destroyed in a fire early last Thursday morning, around 2:40 a.m.

A State Police Fire Marshal was called in to investigate and found that the fire was intentionally set.

The home was worth about $10,000 and is owned by 53-year-old Robert Shawley from Smokerun.
