Accidental fire destroys West Decatur home, man treated for smoke inhalation

Boggs Township, PA – A fire that destroyed a house and injured a man yesterday in Clearfield County has been ruled as accidental.

A house on Old Erie Pike in West Decatur caught on fire around 10:17 a.m. Thursday.

The occupant, 70-year-old Samuel Dixon, was flown to UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh for smoke inhalation.

The fire marshal has determined the fire to be accidental in nature. Damage is estimated at more than $150,000.
