DUBOIS – City of DuBois officials visited DuBois Middle and High Schools proclaiming today as the Day of Hope.
This event highlights the Hope Squad, a school based program that trains students and adults to recognize warning signs and speak up when someone needs help.
Christine Klein, an eighth-grade school counselor at the DuBois Middle School, says that this peer to peer is the key to making Hope Squad a success.
“ It’s just been a wonderful thing for the students. They’re so proud of it. We’re so proud of them,” explained Klein. “They work really hard every month going through their training and curriculum. It is a great thing, not just for them, but for the school to be able to provide that. “
She also said that the DuBois Middle School is proud to be Pennsylvania’s founding Hope Squad and to continue the program for the past five years, ultimately helping students in a meaningful way.
