DUBOIS – The city is informing you about potential lead pipes in the municipality.
You may have recently received a letter in the mail claiming that your household may have lead pipes, however there is no need to panic as these letters are just a part of an initial study.
Since recent EPA limit changes, the city has been looking at their water supply with plans of an engineering firm to dig deeper into the impact of the potential lead pipes.
It should also be noted that the pipes leading into your home will likely not differ from what is underground.
Currently the municipality uses an environmentally safe chemical to ensure that lead does not leach out of the pipes into the water supply.
