DUBOIS – The DuBois Chamber of Commerce’s Non-Profit Networkers Meeting will be held later in the month. We take a look at how important these organizations are for our area.
In the Dubois area alone, there are over 84 non-profits associated with the Chamber of Commerce providing opportunities for our area.
According to the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Jodi August, these businesses are vital.
“I don’t think people realize how many non-profit and charitable organizations and businesses there are in our community,” explained August. “Goodwill Industries covers 16 counties, the main hub is in Falls Creek and they have over 800 employees. That is a very large scale non-profit, but then we have very small non-profit businesses and charitable organizations set up like foundations kind of like the T.E.D.E. Foundation.”
The fall Networkers meeting will be held on Wednesday October 23rd from 11am to noon at the Best Western Conference Center in DuBois. You can make your reservation anytime before Friday October 18th.
