DUBOIS – School spirit is in the air at DuBois Area Schools as Spirit Week is upon us, culminating in the football team’s Homecoming game against Ridgway on Friday.
Student Representative Lauren Kennedy spoke about the beginning of the school year, how the student government is preparing for the homecoming court, and the themes of this year’s Spirit Week.
“At the beginning of the school year Homecoming court was selected with all vying for the title of Homecoming Queen,“ explained Kennedy. “The winner will be announced on Friday October 4th at the Homecoming game against Ridgway. The Homecoming dance will be held the next day. Student Council had been busy planning the dance and Spirit Week. This year the dance theme is disco, with Spirit week themes being Hats and Sweats, Hawaiian, County V.S. County Club, Adam Sandler, and School Spirit.”
Spirit Week culminates with the Dubois Beavers’ Homecoming football game against the Ridgway Elkers Friday October 4th.
A Tailgate Party is set for the High School parking lot from 4pm to 5:30pm, with plenty of food and drinks donated by the community.
After that a parade will march from the parking lot to Mansell Stadium to launch the Homecoming game starting at 7pm.
If you are participating in the parade, you are asked to wear the famous red, black, and white school colors, all students must be accompanied by an adult.
The Homecoming dance will take place the following day.
