Four windmill “superloads” scheduled to travel through Clearfield County today

CLEARFIELD – Thanksgiving week is starting with a quartet of slow-moving windmill “superloads” expected to roll through on Clearfield County’s major roadways today, creating possible traffic delays.

According to PennDOT, the four “superloads” will travel the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 from Falls Creek Exit 97 to Clearfield Exit 120, then onto Routes 879, 322 and 153. The first load, a windmill power train, is also scheduled to make a wrong way maneuver on the Clearfield Bypass.

Windmill parts and supplies are being moved from the Port of Erie to a location near Tyrone.
