Ridgway, PA – A 78-year-old Ridgway woman lost nearly $1,000 to someone she thought was working for Apple support.
The unnamed woman told State Police in Ridgway that, on March 15, an unknown person acted as though they were from Apple support and deceived her.
The scam artist was able to obtain the woman’s banking information.
They were able to wire $499 from her account on one occasion and $498 on another occasion, equaling $997 total.
