Clarion County, PA – A Clarion County woman died in a house fire earlier this week, which investigators now say was caused by her smoking near an oxygen tank.

74-year-old Jacquelyn Kubla from East Brady Borough in Clarion County had been sitting in a recliner in her apartment Sunday morning. Kubla was using oxygen while smoking, which investigators say led to the fire that caused her death.

The apartment was filled with heavy smoke when fire crews arrived.

The fire had self-extinguished. Although the fire caused about $5,000 to the apartment, the building itself had minimal damage and there were no other injuries.

No funeral arrangements have been announced yet for 74-year-old Jacquelyn Kubla.
