Glen Campbell, PA – An Indiana County man is accused of shooting and killing his father.
According to State Police in Punxsutawney, troopers were called out on Wednesday to the Bartlebaugh home in Glen Campbell, in the north eastern part of Indiana County, near Punxsutawney and Mahaffey.
They found that 25-year-old Matthew Bartlebaugh had shot and killed his father, 43-year-old Jerald Bartlebaugh.
The son refused to exit the home, which led to police bringing their Special Emergency Response Team, SERT.
There was a brief standoff, after which Matthew Bartlebaugh surrendered without incident.
He is being charged with one count of criminal homicide and will be arraigned at a later time.
Police do not say what they believe the son’s motive was for killing his father.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. Additional information is expected to be released soon.
