UNDATED – The 2025-26 hunting season in Pennsylvania has a preliminary outline set with some changes compared to last year.
The timeframes and bag limits are similar to the 2024-25 season with only a few modifications.
Currently the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners would like to put a three hare limit for snowshoe hares from the possible six currently.
When hunting elk, the Game Commission has proposed that any hunter has a standard hunting license before getting an elk tag. They would also like hunters to put their social security number either on their Hunter ID or on the application. Officials are also looking at limiting the amount of elk tags given out each season, especially to out of state hunters.
