CLEARFIELD COUNTY — A New Jersey company is building a 173-acre solar farm in Bradford Township, Clearfield County, and some area residents are expressing concern.
The solar farm is owned by CI-Shiloh LLC, and will contain over 45,000 solar panels, eight central inverters and concrete pads, a racking system, and numerous underground cables.
At a recent Bradford Township meeting, supervisors and residents expressed surprise and concern about the solar farm.
Business owner and township resident Dick Heberling said, “We don’t know what kind of effects the solar farm will create…we don’t know environmentally, or health wise. My initial reaction was a total shock … “
There are two other solar farms in the Bradford Township area.
It is unclear how much they can help save on electricity.
