$1,220 stolen from four unlocked vehicles in Elk County

Ridgway, PA – Someone stole a total of $1,220 from four different  unlocked vehicles while they were parked near a home in Elk County.

State Police in Ridgway say the thief took the money in the late night hours of Jan. 3 or early morning hours of Jan. 4 while the vehicles were parked along Shelvey Summit Road in Fox Township, between Ridgway and Kersey.

All the vehicles had been unlocked.

The victims are listed as a 63-year-old man, 51-year-old woman, 22-year-old man, and 19-year-old man, all from Ridgway.

Residents are reminded to always lock your vehicle when you leave it unattended, even if it is parked near your home or in what you would generally consider a safe location. Locking your vehicle is one of the easiest things you can do to help discourage break-ins.
