Undated – Today, May 23rd, is the 143rd day of the year.
In Pennsylvania, it is 1-4-3 Day in honor of our native son, Fred Rogers.
Mister Rogers regularly used 1-4-3 as a way to say I-Love-You on his television show, “Mister Rogers Neighborhood.”
1-4-3 Day was officially established four years ago, as a way to share in simple acts of kindness to celebrate Rogers’ legacy.
Governor Tom Wolf called on Pennsylvanians to carry out good deeds and kind words to our neighbors, friends, family, teachers, first responders, and strangers.
As in past years, the commonwealth’s website will be home to a “Kindness Generator” at pa.gov/143-day, to provide inspiration for the day, and a “Kindness Tracker” will tally all the good deeds and kind gestures Pennsylvanians do throughout the day.
