District 9 / PIAA Football Playoffs
Class 3A: Brockway won its second consecutive District 9 football championship with a 31-26 win over St. Marys last Saturday. The Rovers are now 7-and-4, and will head into the first round of the PIAA football playoffs to take on the District 6 champs, which will be either Penn Cambria or Huntingdon.
Class 5A Subregional: The DuBois Beavers secured a spot in the Districts 6, 8, and 9 subregional title game by knocking off Mifflin County, 48-21, last Friday. DuBois will face Hollidaysburg Friday night on the Golden Tigers’ home field to decide the championship.
Class 4A Subregional: Clearfield shut out District 8’s USO-Obama Academy, 14-0, last Friday to set up a Clearfield–Punxsutawney clash to settle the subregional championship for District 9. The Bison and Chucks meet at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field on Friday night.
PIAA Soccer Playoffs:
Class 1A Boys – Tuesday: Winchester-Thurston (District 7) 6, Brockway 0
Class 3A Girls – Tuesday: DuBois 4, Moon (District 7) 2 – The Lady Beavers advance and will take on Fox Chapel in the PIAA Quarterfinals on Saturday.
PIAA Volleyball Playoffs:
Class 1A – Tuesday: Frazier (District 7) 3, Elk County Catholic 1
Class 2A – Tuesday: Everett (District 5) 3, St. Marys 1
Class 3A – Tuesday: Beaver Area (District 7) 3, DuBois 0
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins return home from a four-game road trip, and will face off with the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
Tune in for the Pens-Caps pregame show on Connect FM at 6 tomorrow evening. The opening face-off is scheduled for 7pm.

Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers lead the AFC North Division standings by two games after Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers travel to LA to take on the Chargers in Sunday Night Football this week. Kickoff time is set for 8:20pm.
