District 9 High School Football: Week 2
Week two of the District 9 high school football season will play out on Friday. Brockway will be hosting St. Marys. Both teams are 0-1. Listen for live action of the Rovers and Flying Dutch game at 7 Friday night on Sunny 106. You can also watch our coverage at Tri-County dot TV. In other games, DuBois will be hosting Punxsutawney; Brookville plays at Karns City; Clearfield travels to Bedford; Curwensville welcomes Windber; and Ridgway will be on the road at Smethport.
College Football:
College football kicks off this week in Pennsylvania. Thursday evening, Penn West Clarion is hosting Wheeling. Then on Saturday afternoon, Penn State opens the season with a home game against Nevada. Also Saturday, Pitt hosts Duquesne.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates were nipped by the St. Louis Cardinals Monday, 7-6. That ends the Pirates’ winning streak at four games. The Bucs will play in St. Louis again tonight. Listen for the Pirates-Cardinals pregame show at 7:20 this evening on Connect FM. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:45.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve begin a six-game series in Harrisburg tonight. Game one of the series is scheduled to begin at 6:30.
