DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:

In the District 10 Little League All Star Baseball Tournaments …

Wednesday night, at Way Memorial Field in DuBois, the DuBois Major All Stars claimed the district championship with an 8-0 victory over Bradford’s All Stars. With the district title under their belt, the Majors All Stars will begin Sectional tournament play on July 12th.

Tonight, the DuBois Junior Baseball All Stars will be facing the Elk County All Stars in a winner’s bracket matchup. Tune in for live coverage of that game on Sunny 106 at 6 this evening, or watch the action at Tri County dot TV.

The DuBois 8 to 10 year-old All Stars will be taking on St. Marys for the district championship this evening.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates keep on rolling. With a 5-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday at PNC Park, the Bucs have now put six straight wins together, two consecutive series sweeps, and have recorded victories in eight of their last 10 games.

The Bucs are off today, but hopefully won’t cool off. Pittsburgh will play three games in Seattle over the Independence Day weekend. The Pirates and Mariners start the series Friday afternoon at 3:40.

Altoona Curve:

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve notched an 8-5 win over Harrisburg at PNG Field last night. The Curve have now won four straight games, and seven of their last eight. Altoona hosts the Senators again tonight. Game time is 7pm.
