District 9 Baseball and Softball / Volleyball:
All District 9 baseball and softball games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed due to the wintry weather.
DuBois had its season-opening boys’ volleyball match. The Beavers defeated Forest Hills on the road three sets to zero.
Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State-DuBois baseball team had its scheduled games at Kent State-Tuscarawas postponed yesterday. Next on the Penn State-DuBois schedule is a home game Saturday with Point Park.
Penn State-DuBois softball starts its regular season schedule on Saturday with a double-header on the road, at Kent State-Tuscarawas.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates notched a 3-1 Spring Training game win over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. Tonight, the Bucs are scheduled to face the Baltimore Orioles in Florida. We’re one week away from the season-opener for the Pirates. On Thursday, March 26th, the Bucs will start the 2026 regular season against the Mets in New York.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins lost 6-5 in overtime last night to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Penguins will host the Winnipeg Jets Saturday afternoon. The pregame show begins at 12 Noon Saturday on Connect FM. The Pens-Jets opening faceoff is scheduled for 1pm.
