District 9 / PIAA Football Playoffs
Class A: District 9’s Class 1A football champs, Port Allegany, will be playing in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA playoffs on Friday. The undefeated Gators will take on District 10 champion Greenville at Corry High School. Kickoff time tomorrow night is set for 7pm.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Penguins are back in the ‘Burgh, having returned home from last weekend’s Global Series in Sweden. Tomorrow night, the Pens will face the Minnesota Wild at PPG Paints Arena.
The opening face-off is scheduled for 7pm Friday. The Pens-Wild pregame show begins at 6pm on Connect FM.
College Football: Saturday Schedule
Nebraska (7-3) at Penn State (4-6), 7pm
Pitt (7-3) at #16 Georgia Tech (9-1), 7pm
Assumption University (8-2) at IUP (7-3), 1pm – NCAA Division II Regional Playoffs
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers will battle the Bears in Chicago on Sunday. Kickoff time is 1pm. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is expected to soon announce whether Aaron Rodgers or Mason Rudolph will be starting as quarterback for Pittsburgh.
College Basketball:
Penn State 84, Harvard 80 – Penn State’s early-season record improves to 5-and-0.
Clarion-Penn West 95, Frostburg State 94 – Clarion is 2-and-1.
