District 9 High School Football Playoffs
Class 3A (Saturday): Brockway 31, St. Marys 26 – Back-to-back 3A championship for the Rovers. Brockway quarterback Aiden Patton carried the ball for 75 yards and completed 10 passes for another 130 yards. The 7-and-4 Rovers will head into the PIAA football playoffs for the first time in 15 years when they go up against the District 6 champs in two weeks.
Class 5A Subregional (Friday): DuBois 48, Mifflin County 21 – DuBois grabbed an early 21-0 lead after one quarter, and didn’t look back. Beavers quarterback Trey Wingard passed for 279 yards and five touchdowns. DuBois will face Hollidaysburg Friday night to settle the Class 5A Districts 6,8, and 9 championship.
Class 4A Subregional (Friday): Clearfield 14, USO-Obama Academy 0 – Clearfield and Punxsutawney will play for the Class 4A District 9 championship in Brockway Friday night.
Class 1A (Friday): Redbank Valley 51, Ridgway 19
District 9, PIAA Soccer Playoffs:
Class 1A Boys – Tuesday: Brockway will host Winchester-Thurston, the third place team from the WPIAL, District 7, in the first round of the PIAA playoffs
Class 3A Girls – Tuesday: DuBois will host Moon, the third place team from the WPIAL, District 7, in the first round of the PIAA playoffs.
District 9, PIAA Volleyball Playoffs:
Class 1A – Tuesday: Elk County Catholic hosts Frazier
Class 2A – Tuesday: St. Marys hosts Everett
Class 3A – Tuesday: DuBois plays at Beaver Area
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins came up short to the Winnipeg Jets Saturday, 5-2.
The Penguins’ road trip wraps up in Toronto tonight. Tune in for the Pens-Leafs pregame show on Connect FM at 6:30 this evening. The opening face-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.

Pittsburgh Steelers:
The Pittsburgh Steelers notched a 27-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers’ defense forced six turnovers and had five sacks.
