Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates will play a three-game series in St. Louis this weekend. Game one of the Pirates’ series against the Cardinals is tonight. The pregame show begins at 7:50, and the first pitch is scheduled for 8:15pm. Pittsburgh Pirates baseball comes your way live on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve tamed the Erie Sea Wolves last night, 9-5. It was Altoona’s third-straight win over Erie. Game four of the series is set to start at 6 this evening at PNG Field.

District 9 High School Football:

The long wait is over, and the District 9 high school football season begins tonight. The Brockway Rovers open their season at Keystone. Listen for Rovers football live on Sunny 106, and watch at Tri-County – dot – TV. The pregame show starts at 6:30 this evening, and kickoff time is 7.

Other D9 Tri-County area games tonight include Brookville playing at Union-AC Valley; Punxsutawney hosting Bradford; Clearfield plays at Bellwood-Antis; Curwensville hosts Northern Bedford; and Ridgway plays at St. Marys.

Tomorrow night, the DuBois Beavers open their season at Erie.

College Football:

The 2026 college football season begins next Thursday. That’s when Clarion hosts West Virginia Wesleyan, and IUP plays at Ashland. Then next Saturday, the 18th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions will host Marshall; and Miami of Ohio will play the Pitt Panthers in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost by one to the Buffalo Bills last night in their final preseason game. The final was Buffalo 28, Pittsburgh 27. The Steelers finished the preseason with a record of 1-and-2. Pittsburgh’s regular season schedule is two weeks away. The Steelers host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, September 13th.
