District 9 High School Football: Week 10

Thursday night:

Port Allegany 48, Brockway 22 – It was another typical, big night for the Gators’ Aiden Bliss. Bliss ran for 266 yards and five touchdowns, and he returned a fumble 92 yards for a touchdown. Bliss exceeded the 7,000 career rushing yard mark. … The Rovers kept the game close and trailed by only six points until the final nine minutes of the game. Brockway finishes the regular season with a record of 6-and-4, and will look to defend their District 9 Class 3A title next week.

District 9 Soccer Playoffs:

Thursday – Girls Class A Semifinals

Elk County Catholic 2, Brockway 1 – overtime

Karns City 3, Brookville 0

Elk County Catholic will battle Karns City for the District 9 Class A championship next Wednesday in Brookville.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins knocked off the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers last night, 5-3. It was the Pens’ fourth win in a row.

The Pens return home to host the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night. Tune in for the Penguins-Blue Jackets pregame show at 6 tomorrow evening on Connect FM. The opening face-off is scheduled for 7pm.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting Green Bay for Sunday Night Football this weekend. Pittsburgh enters the contest with a 4-and-2 record. The Packers head into Acrisure Stadium with a 4-1-and-1 mark. Kickoff time Sunday night is scheduled for 8:20.
