DuBois Little League All Star Baseball:
The District 10 Little League All Stars Tournament continues for three DuBois Little League Baseball teams.
On Tuesday, the DuBois Major All Stars were 11-1 winners over Punxsutawney. That sets up a winner’s bracket matchup between DuBois and Bradford on Saturday. Listen live on Connect FM Saturday afternoon at 4 as the DuBois All Stars take on the Bradford All Stars.
The DuBois 8 to 10 year-old All Stars will be facing Brookville in the winner’s bracket of that tournament today.
The DuBois Junior All Stars begin their district tournament on Friday. Live action of the Junior Tournament games involving DuBois will come your way on Sunny 106, starting with the DuBois and Punxsutawney matchup at 6pm Friday.
The DuBois Senior All Stars already wrapped up a District 10 championship. DuBois has advanced to the Sectional Tournament.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates were smacked by the Milwaukee Brewers last night, 9-3.
The Pirates and Brewers will play the final game of the series this afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:10. Listen for the Bucs-Brewers pregame show at 1:45 this afternoon on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve doubled up on the Chesapeake BaySox last night, 6-3. Game two of Altoona’s series in Maryland is scheduled to begin at 6:35 this evening.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The NHL Draft is this weekend, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will have a total of 11 selections, including a pair of back-to-back picks in the first round. Pittsburgh picks 11th and 12th in the first round of the draft. The Pens will also be making six draft picks out of the first 100 for the league.
